Steph Murray has been passionate about helping people get into homes for most of her working life. It was only natural that when she set up her own Mortgage Advisory business only 4 years ago, she wanted to continue making a real difference in her local communities. Whilst the company has now grown to 16 in a very short space of time, one of its core Values that remains very important to Stephanie Murray Mortgages (SMM) is …
"Our success will enable us to provide housing assistance to the under-privileged within those provincial communities ...
Several years ago, Steph struck up a real kinship with Michelle Ramage from the Roderique Hope Trust which provides emergency housing across our Taranaki communities. Very quickly, Steph decided she wanted to help this very worthy charitable trust in any way she could, so set about sponsoring various events to raise much needed funds.
One of these key events has become the annual Noir Blanc progressive dinner. The third consecutive annual dinner was recently held at three of New Plymouth’s most popular restaurants - Gover St, Polpetta and Shining Peak Brewing.
Numbers were well up on 2018 with 100 generous patrons packing out these three venues this year. Popular local identity, Charlotte Ward, did a fantastic job as MC, and as usual Kris Rasmussen from Professionals was truly outstanding as our auctioneer supremo!
With the generous support of our dear friends, colleagues and associates, this years Noir Blanc raised more than $14,000 and that takes the total fundraising from SMM events to more than $70,000 for this very worthy cause!
Our 100 guests were split into three groups where they each had an Entrée, Main and Dessert at the different restaurants. The venues provided a superb range of delicious cuisines, and those attended had a really fun night. Celebrations went on into the early hours, and many reported somewhat fuzzy heads the next morning!
